The inspiration for these ornaments was found at My Domicile Style. I made a couple of alterations and created a few for my 2011 Christmas tree. These ornaments are super easy and will add lots of shine to your tree as well!
One 12×12 scrapbooking cardstock sheet (I found mine at Walmart)
One 3 inch Styrofoam ball
Small white beads
One upholstery tack
6 inches of thin gold elastic cord
1 inch round paper punch
Punch out circles from the cardstock. I used about two thirds of the sheet to cover my ball.
Thread a bead, then a sequin and then a paper circle onto a pin. Insert it into the Styrofoam ball.
Repeat this step over and over, making concentric circles around the first circle. The paper circles should overlap each other.
When the ball is almost covered and there is only room for one final paper circle to be placed, pin it down with a couple of straight pins on opposite sides of the circle. Do not use a sequin and bead on this last piece.
Attach a loop on top by tying a square knot in the elastic cord creating a circle. Push an upholstery tack through the center of the knot and tighten around the pin. Clip off ends.
Apply Tacky glue to the tack and press down into the top of the ball. Allow to dry.
