Wrapped Picture for the Holidays

by Linda Mullins on December 29, 2011

I love to put up my Christmas tree, but then I can’t help but notice that it sometimes clashes with the décor in the rest of the room. One trick I have used on occasion is to wrap the pictures on the wall in wrapping paper and decorations that coordinate with the Christmas tree.

This year one of my Christmas trees is gold, fuchsia and white. My magnolia prints (that remind me of the days I lived in Virginia) are a favorite of mine year round, but just don’t look right with my tree. I decided to go ahead and wrap them.
Here is one of the framed prints to wrap. It is a rather large picture; including the frame it’s 28”X32”.

I used wrapping paper and the materials seen below.

I wrapped the picture in the metallic gold wrap.

I attached some fuchsia snowflakes to the white foam snowflakes using a glue gun.

I found some old fuchsia glitter glue (I’m estimating it is 10-12 years old) and outlined the edges of the snowflakes. Then I attached some tinsel garland that has both fuchsia and gold in it to the back of the snowflake. I cut the garland to the length I thought would look nice and attached the raw end of the garland to the back of the picture (this time I just used a piece of tape). I adjusted the snowflakes to hang down at alternating levels on the front of the wrapped picture. To finish things off, I attached a glittery star ornament in each corner of the picture.

All done!
